Soil / Climate: Tolerant of a wide range of soils, but prefers moist, well drained rich loam. Prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade.
Notes: Popular ornamental due to it’s red flowers that bloom in high quantity from spring until the first fall frost. Low maintenance. Typically cultivated as from cuttings. Prune old growth only, as flowering occurs on 2nd year growth. 2-4 inch leaves. Native to eastern Asia. Relatively deer browse resistant.
