Notes: A low maintenance shrub that is often used to create a dense hedge (may be planted with a 3 to 4 foot spacing between plants). Grows at a rapid rate and is long-lived. Early spring bloom of bright yellow flowers are usually profuse and open before leaves emerge. Forysthia flowers are 1 1/4″ to 1 1/2″ long and wide, bell-like and produced in clusters. Dark green leaves are oval, 3″ and turn to yellow in the fall.
