Think outside the box this holiday season and give a loved one a bare root tree! Although we’re currently in the midst of winter, it’s never too early to think about what trees you’re going to plant come springtime. At Cold Stream Farm, we believe preplanning is best. The same holds true when gifting a bare root tree.
Bare root trees make great gifts, because they can (barring circumstances) last forever. What better way to symbolize love, be it bourgeoning or everlasting, than a tree with many roots that’ll grow up healthy and strong?
A bare root tree has a sturdier root system than your average tree. Because of this, it’ll root better when planted. It’s a stronger tree. By gifting a bare root tree, you’re telling that person, ”Our roots are strong.”
At Cold Stream Farm, we have many bare root trees for sale, including Apricot, Chestnut, Hazelnut, Maple, Sycamore, Walnut, and so much more! When gifting bare root trees, however, there are a few things to consider – locale and climate, for instance.
Gifting a bare root tree may put unwarranted pressure on the other person. They might wonder where, when and how to plant it. Before gifting the tree, make sure to have a game plan for the other person and helpful suggestions.
It’s possible to plant trees in the winter, if the ground’s not frozen. Of course, it all depends on where you live as well as the weather conditions. Depending on the region, the best times to plant trees are usually late winter or early spring.
Although bare root trees make great Christmas gifts, you should always preplan when gifting one.
