What do you think of when someone says Christmas? Chances are you think of the glorious amount of presents you’ll have to open, but if you’re like the rest of us, you most likely think of a Christmas tree. And when you think of a Christmas tree you think of something stoic, that never moves, fixed in our homes and our hearts like some kind of prickly sentinel, but did you know that some Christmas trees go on incredible journeys into our homes and our hearts? Let’s look at this tree in Michigan, according to this Upper Michigan’s Source article.
“The 66-foot spruce selected to be Michigan’s 30th official Christmas tree will begin its journey to the state Capitol on October 28.The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, the Michigan Association of Timberman, the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association and Michigan Operators Engineers will participate in the harvest. They will begin setting up at 8:30 a.m. and start harvesting around 9 a.m.”
It’s almost like the great American road trip, but for a tree. Such a journey for a tree really makes us see the true meaning of Christmas, the journey that we all take to get to our home, to see our family, to embrace our loved ones, etc. At Cold Stream Farm, we can even see this story being a cute animated movie. Let’s get the Claymation teams together once again!
